Kia is a broad-spectrum fungicide that combines two powerful active ingredients: Azoxystrobin, a strobilurin fungicide, and Tebuconazole, a triazole fungicide. Azoxystrobin inhibits fungal mitochondrial respiration by blocking the cytochrome bc1 complex (complex III) in the electron transport chain, suppressing ATP production necessary for fungal energy metabolism. This disrupts spore germination and mycelial growth, providing excellent preventive protection. Tebuconazole inhibits the enzyme 14-alpha demethylase, vital for ergosterol biosynthesis in fungi. Ergosterol is a key component of fungal cell membranes; its depletion disrupts membrane integrity, stopping fungal growth and spread. Tebuconazole provides curative action and systemic protection. The combined action of Azoxystrobin and Tebuconazole offers a synergistic effect that controls multiple fungal developmental stages, ensuring broad and long-lasting disease suppression.
