Pretilachlor 50% EC
PRETILACLIS is a pre-emergence, broad-spectrum herbicide from the chloroacetamide chemical group, specially formulated for effective weed management in transplanted rice. Applied within four days of transplanting, it creates a protective barrier in the soil that targets germinating weed seeds before they emerge. This selective herbicide controls both narrow-leaf grasses and broadleaf weeds while being safe to the rice crop, making it an important tool in rice-based integrated weed management programs.
PRETILACLIS is absorbed primarily through the germinating shoots (hypocotyls, mesocotyls, and coleoptiles) and secondarily via roots of emerging weeds. It is translocated throughout the plant, with higher accumulation in vegetative tissues, inhibiting cell division and elongation in susceptible species. As a soil-applied herbicide, its effectiveness is enhanced by maintaining a shallow water layer (2–3 cm) at the time of application. It can be applied by uniform spraying or through sand-mix broadcasting immediately after transplanting up to 4 days after transplanting.
Early Weed Suppression: Stops weed growth before emergence, ensuring a weed-free environment during the critical early stages of rice establishment.
Broad-Spectrum Efficacy: Controls both annual grasses and broadleaf weeds in transplanted rice fields.
Long-Lasting Control: Provides extended residual activity, minimizing the need for frequent follow-up sprays.
Crop Safety: Selective to rice, reducing the risk of crop injury compared to many alternative herbicides.
Flexible Application Methods: Can be applied through water-based spraying or sand mixture broadcasting for operational ease.
Fits Integrated Weed Management: Supports sustainable practices by minimizing weed seed bank buildup and reducing reliance on post-emergence products.
